Estimation of Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) Curves from Large Scale Atmospheric Dataset by Statistical Downscaling

The study proposes a new approach that combined statistical downscaling, bias correction, and disaggregation of rainfall techniques in order to derive the IDF curve from large scale atmospheric reanalysis data. applied methodology details NCEP/NCAR dataset being downscaled by an ANN-based estimate daily Izmir. annual maximum series area were sampled series. rainfalls then bias-corrected quantile mapping method disaggregated into standard-duration heights regarding rainfalls' scale-invariant properties. Finally, curves determined using heights. results confirmed dependent on short-duration extreme could be reasonably estimated large-scale variables downscaling approach.
